Redoable 1.2 has just been released. Head to the Redoable homepage to find out whats new and to make sure you download the latest copy. enjoy.
Three weeks of work and my first WordPress theme is ready to be released. It is primarily based on the popular K2 for WordPress, Unwakeable by Tyler Longren and inspired by many, many other WordPress blogs out there. My goal was to produce a theme that had everything that I wanted in it, Unwakeable was close which is why I chose to use it as my starting point.
I have incorporated a host of changes/improvements, adding functionality, different structure and support for even more plugins without the need for further template modification. Some of the changes/improvements I have made include:
- All-new blog layout and styles.
- Two-column design with a sidebar that is Sidebar Module/Widget ready.
- Optional Sidenotes on the homepage.
- Optional sidebar modules to display favourite music, movies etc.
- Support for a dozen plugins without the need to modify any files.
- and more…
So what does this theme look like in action…well you are looking at it right now. Everything you see in the sidebar is included in the sidebar by default, all you need to do is install and activate the relevant plugins, and set a couple of options in the admin panel.
There is a complete list of tested and supported plugins on the Redoable homepage. There are also download links for each so that you can get them if you don’t already have them installed. I have also modified a couple of the plugins to suit Redoable, these modified plugins are also available.
Visit the Redoable homepage for more information.

For a better browsing experience use Firefox?
Wow.
I just visited another person who has downloaded your theme and their website has your affiliate ID in the same large advertisement. Is this by design or do the people understand they ar advertising for you? I am sure some would not mind but are they aware of this or could they be using their own affid?
From an audience standpoint I wanted to share with you that nothing turns me off faster from a site than to be told how I need to change something. I am your demographic but yet I hit the back button anytime I have seen this clever suggestion popping out at me from websites. Corporate websites understand it’s their job to cater to the audience not vice versa and FWIW, I prefer the browser I use.
From a designer standpoint the ad’s quite large and obtrusive and I have to scroll horizontally on a 1024 wide resolution.
Theme is really great. Maybe we could start something like a help place to share our problems and ideas how to make this and this.
I can make a forum topic for this on my forum.
If you want obviously.
the widget functionality isnt working for me… the plugin seems functional but on the Sidebar Widget page cant ‘drag-and-drop’ anything. any ideas?
thanks for the temp and all of tips that you share.Aplaud and regard

Nice! I am going ot make a derivation for my own website.
Good theme!
Lance: Yeah, I don’t know what’s wrong with the download link, it works sometimes and then stops, I am looking for an alternative download manager at the moment. Anyway here’s the direct link for Redoable 1.0.

1.1 is still a little way off, I am still having trouble resolving some of the issues. That combined with the fact I am now back at work and can’t spend all day working on it…but it is coming.
Great looking theme, I want to use it — but can’t download :( Any ideas about when 1.1 will be available? I would love to taste the 1.0 goodness.
Let me know.
Great theme Dean! I love the colors. Get in touch with me if you wanna bounce some ideas off me as to why Gregarious isn’t working. I just released Unwakeable 1.2 today with Gregarious support.
Thanks Dean for the quick response. I’m glad to hear about your new release, and of course I’ll be waiting for those fixes. Awesome news, by the way. I simply love this theme.
Luis: I am currently working on an update, that will fix some of the bugs that are in Redoable 1.0, as well as introducing some additional features. I understand what you are wanting to achieve with the single_post.php file, and I think I can easily add it as an option in the admin area, so if you can wait a week or so I will put it in the next release, then you won’t have to worry about any code. Yes, the search function was broken as well, it will also be fixed in the next release.
By the way, I’ve just realized the search page is incorrect, or doesn’t load properly, or has some kind of error in it (at least in my redoable installation is showing a big textbox with some php code in it: http://www.lario.org/photoshopia/busqueda/ ).
Hi Dean,
first of all, it’s an awesome theme, and I’m trying it in my blog, and love it.
But, I’d like to do some changes to the single_post.php file, in order to display the single posts in the same way that they’re shown in the main page (that is, with a wider width for the post header and post text).
I’m not an expert at all in php, css and so on, so It’s been kind of difficult for me to understand how to do that. I understand that maybe has to do with that middle bar where the post info originally appears in the single post page, but i don’t know how to disable that bar space in order to regain that same space for my text in the posts…
Sorry if I’m not explaining the problem properly, but I’m spanish, so… sorry.
Thanks in advance, and hope to hear from you soon.
picallo: Thanks for the feedback. I will look into what could be causing those problems. I’ve has a look at your site and can see what you are talking about with the feed and trackbacks. However they seem to be ok here on my blog. I have one theory what could be causing this problem, I’ll check it out.
The commenting problem I am guessing is related to the other problems. It could all be due to where the comment block is placed in the template. Again I will check this out.
Spam Karma 2 was not tested with this theme initially. I have added it to the list of plugins to check. If there are any specific problems with Spam Karma compatibility leave a comment or add it to the bug tracker.
Hi, im using your theme (its very cool) but i have some problems
1)Trackbacks are wrong!
2) When i want to comment in a post the comment goes to a different one
3) Problem with Spam Karma 2
4) Feeds are wrong!!!
Eberth: After having a look at your site, my guess would be that it is probably the postratings-css.css file. If you compare the yours(the original) to my modified one there are some differences which could be causing what you have described.
Your postratings-css.css: http://www.eberthmq.com/wp-content/plugins/postratings/postratings-css.css
My postratings-css.css:

Ribbon: The ELA styles are pretty much as I got them from the Unwakeable theme. I have just modified the colours. There are no changes in the code of hte plugin itself, one CSS changes.
Hi!
This is cool! But I have a question about Extended Live Archives: what did you do to ELA appear like this? I use that plugin and it looks different (in columns: year — month — posts. but in your archives page it looks chronlogy above year above months…).
Hello,
this is a great theme, thanks a lot and congratulations!! :)
btw, i am having a little problem on displaying the rating and the share this, they dont “float”, they appear one beneath other.. i dont know if i explained myself, but you can check it out on my blog.
tnx in advance :)
