what plugins are you using in the side bar? I particularly like the archives, last.fm, and xbox sections.
I'm actually not using any special plugins for those sections. The archives bit is just a combination of the standard WordPress calendar and archives functions, and the last.fm and xbox bit is just done using additional link/blogroll categories.

I am however looking at switching the last.fm section out for a plugin if I can find one to do what I want, just so that its one less thing I have to physically update.

Thank you for the tip dean. I used Pingdom services and liked it very much, but my free account expired and I'm not enough into blogging to think about taking a pro account.

On the other side, site24x7 has a nice unlimited free account strategy if I get it well, and that sure is a good reason to give them a try.

Once again, thank you for the advice.
Concerning the "I also monitor the response times for my site", I would really like to know how you manage to do that ? Do you use Pingdom or another service ?
I use site24x7.com it checks my sites and notifies me if they go down, also reports the response times for me.
