Fluency Admin v1.1 Available Now

010408

Happy April Fool’s Day everyone! I had planned to play a prank on my visitors (I even had the post all written up) but I thought this would be better.

This is no joke, as promised Fluency v1.1 is now fully compatible with the stable release of WordPress 2.5. Thank you to all those who provided feedback and bug reports which helped iron out most things, and huge thank you to the 5,100+ people who download v1.0 (in just 20 days). Remember if you have any issues, jump over to the forum or the bug tracker and let me know. If I don’t know about a problem I can’t fix it.

Theres no new features as such, but a lot of “fixes” for things that changed between WP2.5-RC1 and the final release of 2.5. From big things like the “Add Media” modal dialogs now being styled correctly, to the smallest detail like adding 2 extra pixels of padding to an element. I won’t list all the changes, but if you’re interested you can get an idea of the main changes by checking out the bug tracker.

I’ve now got full and proper support for several popular plugins, including Ozh’s Admin Drop Down Menus and NextGen Gallery. For full details about which plugins are supported head over to the plugin compatibility page, and if you’ve got a plugin you would like to supported just let me know. A big thanks to Ozh for his help and suggestions in streamlining the method used to apply the styles on a per-plugin basis.

Ok, thats enough talk, what are you waiting for. Download v1.1 now and give it a whirl. And you can find out more details here.

Well, it’s a good job, but i’m still getting this issue with wordpress stats. And i have upgraded to 1.1 today, but without any significant change in this problem.

I recently upgraded to v2.5 and Fluency was the first thing I did. I saw the screens when you first put them up on flickr and have looked forward to it. Will upgrade it today. Great job on it.

Hey, great theme for the admin!

Why isn’t this update to the plugin appear in the ‘plugin’ tab in wordpress? Shouldn’t it appear with a auto-update link? (i have 2.5)

    tks!

The automatic plugin updating stuff only works for plugins that are hosted in the WordPress.org plugins repository. At this time Fluency is not in this repository.

Great plugin and thanks for your work, I have an issue with the version 1.1 of fluency and Wordpress 2.5 final. When actived, I can’t make any changes on my widgets page.

Gorgeous… updating clients’ wp-admin with this beauty…. have to make sure they run Firefox though.

I’ve referred them all to Browse Happy… let’s see if they upgrade. Very much worth it for this plugin alone.

Dean I sent you an email… no need to respond I’m sure you’re busy.

Thanks again for the beautiful work — Chris

I can t make it work. I reinstalled a new version of 2.5 release and put the content in the plug in folder, activated it and while it says it is activated I see nothing different on the admin pages

I really love this plugin but it doesn’t seem to be working in Safari 3.1 (the sidebar isn’t showing).

Sorry, I may have spoken too soon. No sure what happened but everything under Safari 3.1 seems to be working just fine now…

stunning work dean, thanks so much for sharing

  17. This should have been the admin station aesthetics for WP 2.5 instead of the disorganized and convoluted mess that is there now.

This plugin makes the admin station neat, orderly, and logically defined to find the things you need

    Great job.

I still have the disappearing sidebar in safari :(…I am not sure, but there may be some bad interaction with OZH admin menus. The previous version of this plugin (1.0) did not have the disappearing menu problem. Thanks!

Mine is working fine in Safari. The sidebar disappears if I use the Ozh’s Admin Drop Down Menus (with Fluency Admin enabled) and it’s not just in Safari
