modMunch

modMunch Released

modMunch 1.0

modMunch allows you to receive your comment moderation notices via an RSS feed, instead of clogging up your inbox. The idea came from Matt Brett when he posted that he was looking for something like this on twitter.

Features

  • Gives you an RSS feed with the comments that are awaiting moderation.
  • Access is restricted through the use of a personalised access code.
  • Privdes all the same information that the standard email notifications provide.
  • Removes the need for you to receive constant emails telling you to moderate comments. Multiple emails replaced by a single feed.

  1. Cool one solves another one of my annoyances with the comments manager.

You should also try better comments manager that i created to allow wp admins to reply to comments from within the admin panel, it also allows you to sort comments based on posts.

    Try it out at http://techie-buzz.com/wordpress-plugins/better-comments-manager-wordpress-plugin-release.html

  2. Are you using wp-cahce, there is a chance that it could be the reason why it didn’t, and now does, work initially.

Good to hear its now working for you.

  3. That’s so weird…

I did exactly what you did when I first did it, and it did not work…

I did it again a day or two later (after reading your reply), and suddenly it starting working…

Perhaps you need to go to that page (you suggested) first, before then going to the one that needs the access key - either that, or it simply takes a short while to initialize itself…?

I cannot think of any other reason.

Nonetheless, this now works and looks good!

  4. Hmm, ok, when I access this link:

    http://ni-limits.com/blog/wp-comments-mod-rss2.php

I get the “Your level is not high enough to moderate comments.” message as expected because I haven’t specified the access code. So it would appear that the file is there, and working.

Is that the URL you were trying?

  5. When hearing about this plug-in - I thought wow, that’s just what I need…

    Unfortunately…

I tried to install this on my blog (2.0.4 on IIS Server) and although I can activate it and select an access code - neither of the recommended links used to retrieve the page work.

I just get 404 errors that the page does not exist.

Do I need to set anything else on any of the other options…?

Hope you can help and hope others get to use it without hassle…
