pipeDream

pipeDream Version 1.0

PipeDream is based on the design that I used on this site in the latter part of 2007. It comes with 21 different color schemes built-in, which can be easily selected from the ‘pipeDream options’ page. Also included, and configurable from the options page, is the simple integration of twitter, flickr and delicious.

Features

  • Home page’ design, with single post, 10 recent posts and sidenotes.
  • Archives’ page template, no configuration necessary.
  • Choice of 3 different ‘background’ colors: Dark Blue, Black/Grey and White.
  • Choice of 7 different ‘accent’ colors: Orange, Yellow, Green, Pink, Red, Purple, Blue.
  • Twitter integration, just enter your twitter username into the theme options to display your latest tweet on your homepage.
  • Flickr integration, just enter your flickr id into the theme options to display thumbnails of your last 4 flickr images.
  • del.icio.us integration, just enter your delicious username into the theme options to display your last 5 links on your homepage.
  • Full support for Wordpress 2.3, including Tags

Installation

Installation is super simple, just download the pipedream zip file (link is at the top left of this page), un-zip it, and upload to your webserver using your favourite FTP client. Then in your WordPress admin, go to the ‘presentation’ tab and select ‘pipeDream’ to activate the theme.

You can then goto the ‘pipeDream options’ page and choose your color scheme, and setup any of the other options to suit your needs.

Support

You may leave comments here if you have any questions, and I will try to answer as many as I can. I hope to get my support forums back up and running in the next couple of weeks.

Donations

Themes don’t design and code themselves, they take precious time to build, test and support. So if you use and like pipeDream, or any of my other work, please consider a donation, the link it at the top left of this page just below the download link. All donations are greatly appreciated.

wow, such a smart new theme.. have tested it and really a smart theme! surprisingly, i’m not thinking of editing any part of it.. just perfect. no hassle thinking of coding for the flickr, delicious and twitter.. and you did the placement well. to my view, they compliment each other very well.

Hi: How do I upload your theme to my self-hosted WordPress.com blog (with CSS upgrade)?

Unfortunately you are unable to do that, even with the CSS upgrade. You might be able to email WordPress.com and put in a request for them to make pipeDream available, however I don’t know if there is a specific process that you need to go through to make the request.

Its something I might look at in the future, but I would need to work out were the widgets would go since the theme doesn’t really have a ‘sidebar’ in the traditional way.

Cool theme, I’d installed the moment I saw it. Just a small issue, the formatting doesn’t work. So that means, no block quotes, paragraphs, line break. Any suggestion would be helpful.

    Cheers

Haobam, I’ve just had a look at your site, and it would appear that one of the lines in the thickbox.css you are using is actually stripping/overriding the default margins/paddings which is why everything appear to run together.

    The offending line is:

    *{padding: 0; margin: 0;}

Not sure about a solution (other than deleting that line), if you would like more help head over to the support forum and we’ll see what we can do.

I still haven’t work on the bug. But you’re a rock star Dean, thanks for the amazing super speed reply. Will let you know of the status once I dig into the code.

Nice theme, but I have to wonder, is there a way to get it to show X posts instead of just the last one? I’d like it to show at least the last two, non-side category, posts.

Great theme! I’m running redoable on my main site (.com), but I like the sleekness of Pipedream.

Question - For some reason, I am unable to get the background to shift to blue or black. Am I missing something?

    Thanks!

However, i tried it, but unfortunately, i’m unable to load the option panel :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_categories() in /homepages/13/d195163894/htdocs/wp-content/themes/pipedream/functions.php on line 6”

    Hi,
    Great theme!
I would love to use some more muted highlight colors but I can’t figure out how to add a color.
For example, I would like to have a charcoal type highlight and I have added this to the colors.css. I am missing something because if I select my new added color this does not appear on my page??
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
