  • Redesign — reactive/responsive design — support three different browser width, resize your browser to see it change
  • Upgraded to WordPress 3.0
  • Updated several plugins to WP3 compatible versions
  • Newer, rewritten, version of ‘Like’ plugin — almost ready for release
  • Updated layout for reviews archive, now shows latest review at top
  • Temporarily disabled contact form.
  • Installed W3 Total Cache plugin
  • Optimisation of various custom functions to try and improve load times a little.

4th December 2009

  • Another redesign.
  • All movie review have been converted to posts, and ‘wp movie review’ plugin is no longer needed.
  • Added djr-Like plugin for ‘liking’ posts (similar to the same concept on Facebook)
  • Upgraded to WordPress 2.9-beta2
  • Recategorised posts
  • Cleaned up post tags
  • Updated content on individual project pages
  • New layouts for Archive, Projects, Reviews and Downloads pages
  • Removed clutter from sidebar
  • Updated my quickpost functions to support image uploading, new review and video post styles, also updated visual appearance and jQuery animations
  • Removed several unused pages and put redirection in place for those that needed them
  • Removed the following plugins: Angsuman’s Permanent Redirect, Gregarious, Post Word Count, WP-PostRatings, WP Movie Ratings
  • Temporaily disabled Simple Tags plugin (not WP2.9 compatible yet)

  • Launched 7th redesign — lots of new bits and pieces
  • Updated to WordPress 2.8.2
  • Updated several plugins, removed a couple that are no longer used.
  • Added Video to my quick post form
  • New Download archive with total and averages displayed

  • Added Colophon page.

  • Updated plugins — Akismet, Contact Form 7, CaptainPlanet
  • Deployed latest redesign. Then undeployed it five minutes later because I’d missed a number of critical things, oops.

  • Added ‘About’ link to top level nav, this points to deanjrobinson.info which is still a work in progress but will serve as my ‘online business card’ once complete.

  • Changed number of posters shown on reviews page from 8 to 9.

  • Added “Updates” page (which you are looking at right now).
  • Added delicious, stumble, and tweet links (in addition to the digg button) in a rejigged “Share” section of the sidebar for single articles.
  • Changed Google Ads so they are now only shown to visitors entering from a search engine.
  • Removed character limit from “link quickpost” form

  • Added comment number back on to post listing pages, link generated using custom function instead of default WP function, as it was causing numerous addition queries without reason.

  • Fixed bug in “image quickpost” which was causing the image resize to fail.
  • Fixed several minor css issues that were not completed before launch.

  • Launched version 6 of my site with a new theme.
  • Re-organised homepage, more “tumblelog” style posts, shifted movie reviews to sidebar.
  • Enhanced single post/page views with the addition of a styled excerpt.
  • Added support for the new WP2.7 threaded comments system.
  • Overall revised footer and sidebar content.
  • Added “quickpost” form, visible only to admin (me), which allows me to quickly post articles, sidenotes, links, images, reviews without having to use the WP admin interface at all.
  • Many other small changes, since it was a ground up rebuild.
