Updates

This page has one simple purpose, to keep a basic timeline of the changes and updates that I make to this site, both for my benefit and yours if you like that sort of thing. I've seen this done on several sites, most recently on 5thirtyone.com, and thought it would be a good spot for some quick notes about what I'm doing.

1st April 2009

  • Added ‘About’ link to top level nav, this points to deanjrobinson.info which is still a work in progress but will serve as my ‘online business card’ once complete.

6th Mar 2009

  • Updated to WordPress 2.7.1
  • Updated plugins - Contact Form 7, OpenID, WP-PostRatings, WP-PostViews
  • Fixed Viddler plugin errors

  • Added “Obama-rama Day” celebratory header.

9th Jan 2009

  • Updated lifestream styles to better match the redesign.
  • Added new last.fm icon, added xbox icon, removed Pownce.
  • Changed number of posters shown on reviews page from 8 to 9.
  • Added missing page template for Posters page.

8th Jan 2009

  • Added “Updates” page (which you are looking at right now).
  • Added delicious, stumble, and tweet links (in addition to the digg button) in a rejigged “Share” section of the sidebar for single articles.
  • Changed Google Ads so they are now only shown to visitors entering from a search engine.
  • Removed character limit from “link quickpost” form

3rd Jan 2009

  • Added comment number back on to post listing pages, link generated using custom function instead of default WP function, as it was causing numerous addition queries without reason.

2nd Jan 2009

  • Added Previously-on-Lost.com promo back into the sidebar.
  • Modified CSS display for code block within posts.

1st Jan 2009

  • Fixed bug in “image quickpost” which was causing the image resize to fail.
  • Fixed several minor css issues that were not completed before launch.

29th Dec 2008

  • Launched version 6 of my site with a new theme.
  • Re-organised homepage, more “tumblelog” style posts, shifted movie reviews to sidebar.
  • Enhanced single post/page views with the addition of a styled excerpt.
  • Added support for the new WP2.7 threaded comments system.
  • Overall revised footer and sidebar content.
  • Added “quickpost” form, visible only to admin (me), which allows me to quickly post articles, sidenotes, links, images, reviews without having to use the WP admin interface at all.
  • Many other small changes, since it was a ground up rebuild.
