WordPress is the tool that powers many millions of blogs around the globe, and its what I am using here on deanjrobinson.com. It can be used for so much more than just a simple blog, if thats what you want, the possibilities are only really limited by your imagination (and your abilities).
Just about anyone with a basic knowledge of PHP should be able to begin customising a WordPress theme if they can’t find one that suits them. That said, there are thousands to choose from, each offering different levels of functionality and complexity. Which one is right for you? That all depends on what you want it to be capable of doing.
There are also numerous plugins available which can do everything from submitting your articles to Digg, to counting the number of times a post is viewed. There are several sies around that are dedicated to WordPress Plugins and have vast databases of available plugins for you to browse through.

Ultimate Category Cloud 2.0
Version 2 has been re-written to be compatible with WordPress 2.1
This is a modified version of the Weighted Category Cloud by Matt Kingston. I wanted it to be able to colour each category differently, in a similar way to how the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin coloured tags in its cloud. After Studying the UTW code, and playing around with the Category Cloud code I was able to achieve the desired result.
Rechuked Buttons 1.0
This plugin is a modified version of Sawchuk Buttons by Kirk Montgomery. It adds additional buttons to the WYSIWYG text editor to insert the tags for some of the special styles included with Redoable.
Rechuked buttons 1.0 plugin is not currently compatible with WordPress 2.1
